Since you're passing through Grand Central Station, stop here for some seafood! Food (4/5): I'm new to the oyster game but the more I have them the more I like them. I tried one east coast oyster and one west coast. I prefer west coast (now I know). Additionally I ordered a pan roasted clam dish. My friend ordered the stew. I'm not actually sure there's a difference. Regardless, the clam dish was tasty. There's just not that much clam in the dish. Ambience (3/5): there's a lot going on in this restaurant. There are three seating areas: a sit down restaurant, quasi-bar seating, and a saloon (a more quiet sit down area). To me it's a bit chaotic. Additionally, there was an empty McDonald's coffee cup where they seated us. It got moved but never thrown away. Service (5/5): Friendly and efficient service here! From familiarizing us with the area at the entrance to walking me through oyster suggestions, the people here were friendly and helpful in their own NYC way. I liked it here. What an experience eating oysters at a train station lol.

Great space to meet with friends right in Grand Central. Delicious seafood of all kinds. It was a busy Friday night but no rush to get us out. Enjoyed calamari, oysters, clam chowder (so creamy) and fried shrimp. And nice there's a basket of rolls that come by your table, plus butter. A NY institution that should be in your list of places to go.

Historic and a landmark, i have enjoyed the clam chowder here, and not the tomato based Manahattan version. My guests had tge oysters, but I am less adventurous. For me, tge blackened catfish was very nicely seasoned. I like the preparation. The waiter suggested different versions of potato and I gladly chose mashed. Service was top notch. They kept us hydrated with filled glasses of water. Warm rolls with butter. It was great. Vaulted tile ceilings in the iconic Grand Central Terminal. Life is good.

We walked in for Friday dinner. Tourists like to come here since it's an iconic NY restaurant. It was my first time here, and it was cool to see the space in Grand Central. Servers were attentive. The menu is different and printed everyday as seen by the date on the menus. My friend recommended the clam chowder and NY cheesecake which were delicious and perfect. The chowder was heavy before the entree, but we had to try it. We got a shrimp appetizer, which were jumbo and fresh. I got the grilled swordfish steak special with fried plantains, saffron rice, mango avocado salsa, and grilled eggplant. It was pretty good but not amazing. It is pricy here. They have a wide selection.

Located inside Grand Central. I'm visiting New York with a friend from out of state and this was one of my must visit because I'm such a huge fan of all seafood, especially oysters. The selection of oysters they had on the menu felt endless. You order by piece and each piece is about $3-$4. We ordered some calamari, steamed mussels and clam pasta along with the 2 1/2 dozen oysters. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the oysters, I liked that because I know my oysters and am a little picky, but his recommendations were spot on to what I was looking for. Amazing service and amazing food! The restaurant has a vault setting, with the plaid tablecloths, wooden barrels, a rustic feel. It was a pretty busy and bustling night so i'm glad we had reservations.

This place has been a staple for as long as I can remember! Today I sat on the oyster counter side for the first time ever! I had an awesome server behind the counter and I made friends with a stranger nearby. Oysters were phenomenal 3 bluepoint, 1 fanny, 1 skookum, and 1 wellfleet! Absolutely delicious! And a New England clam chowder

Finally got around to trying this tourist trap, and it wasn't nearly as painful as I feared. We started with a dozen GCOB Bluepoint oysters at $3.50 a pop (RIP $1 oysters, *sob*). They were surprisingly large and juicy, and tasted...dare I say...quite fresh? The famous Oyster Pan-Roast--which confusingly looks like a bisque--was rich and decadent. Two bites is your friend here, unless your palate skews classic French and you can handle much more cream than I can. Then have at it! For the more lactose-intolerant, the Grilled Jumbo Shrimp Scampi over Linguine comes with tons of plump, well-cooked crustaceans served over a light, white wine sauce with just a touch of cream, and all the al dente linguine you could slurp. Throw in a side of the not-bad Garlic Mashed Potatoes (which taste especially great soaked in the Pan-Roast broth), and you could do worse for a meal in the Grand Central area.
